This is a stunningly beautiful and beautifully hand-carved Japanese or Chinese bamboo walking cane.  It is signed by the maker and is covered by animals creatively rendered among branches and tree foliage.  The carved handle feels great in the hand and provides a nice grip.  Please examine photos carefully. Condition: Has numero age splits that bamboo is prone to, but they have all been glued, although in some places there is an edge where it is apparent that, due to age and shrinkage, a perfect fit was not possible.  However, the cane is completely stable and will not likely separate any more. Please judge how much these repairs (no wood replacement or other repairs have been done to my knowledge) might affect the beauty of the cane and the beauty of the carving.  This is a rare cane, signed, and wonderfully executed.  Please weigh the variables as I have presented them.
