A Chimu Stirrup Spout Vessel Peru, c. 1000 – 1470 AD Hollow red-tan earthenware in form of a standing hybrid creature with a monkey-like head and a muscular feline body with curling tail, the stirrup spout has a small monkey clinging to one side looking to its right. In excellent condition; examined under blacklight: the long neck of the spout reattached and restored along break line.
