Signed by Francis Hopkinson (1737 - 1791) and twice signed by Clement Biddle, the document pertains to the Ship Attrolia. The primary content of the document is that of a court summons with a pressed seal of the Admiralty Court of Pennsylvania, but states again that Biddle is "immediately to Seize and attach the Ship Attrolia". On the reverse, a response written and signed by Biddle reads as follows: "To the Honorable Francis Hopkinson Esq. Judge of the Court of Admiralty for the State of Pennsylvania Agreeable to the directions of the written writ I have Seized & attached the Ship Attrolia her Tackel Apparel & Furniture & have her in my Custody to abide the further orders of the Honorable Court. Also have cited all persons interested that they appear as herein directed, So Answers Clement Biddle Marshal." From the Francis Hopkinson Family Archives
