此串手持为清代老琥珀圆珠串成，琥珀珠面光素，表面有明显的“苍蝇翅”风化纹理。搭配寿字纹松石顶珠、佛头、背云及坠脚做以点缀。手持共18颗珠子，材料珍贵，样式传统严谨，古朴雅致。十八子，又叫作手持、念珠。原本应是握在手中念经计数的工具，属佛珠的一种。清代以来，因材质、色泽、雕工的精美，手串已成为文人祈福纳祥、把玩珍赏之物，也是互相馈赠的礼品，佩带手串，穿对襟衣时，挂在第二颗纽扣上；穿大褂衣时，则挂在腋上方的襟钮上，也可挽在手腕或握于手中。
