This impressively large Swastika Keramos vase stands a tall 13" high by 6.5" in diameter. Swastika Keramos is a line of art pottery made from 1906 to 1908 by the Owen China Company of Minerva, Ohio. John Lessell designed this line for Swastika Keramos, and this vase screams 'John Lessell'. It has a classic full-bodied form, a very large vase. Best of all, this vase is decorated with frilly blossoms in iridized red magenta over a coppery gold tone ground, simply stunning! It is unmarked, but guaranteed to be vintage Swastika Keramos. Terry Kovel documents this form with Peacocoks in the decoration on the Kovel site. This exceptional vessel is in factory original condition, with some wear to the goldtone on the rim. The company name has nothing to do with the mise of the swastika symbol in WWII. The ancient symbol of the hooked cross motif actually symbolizes well-being and good fortune, and is a sacred symbol in Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Odinism.
