Richard Kaiser (German, 1868-1941) plein air on canvas. It depicts a landscape scene and is signed Richard Kaiser and Munchen lower right. Provenance: 28 3/4 inches tall X 38 1/4 inches wide; 73 cm tall X 98.4 cm wide, the frame measures 34 inches tall X 43 1/2 inches wide; 86.4 cm tall X 110.5 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: The painting is loose in the frame but is in overall good condition. Not examined out of frame. Additional information: Kaiser attended the Berlin Academy under Max Koner and Eugen Bracht thanks to a scholarship and graduated with distinction. In 1894 Kaiser moved to Munich, where he became a member of the Secession. He worked as a landscape painter, favoring plein air painting. He found his themes on the North and Baltic Seas, in the Alpine landscapes as well as in the area of Munich and Magdeburg.
