A Chinese export, porcelain bowl dating from the 18th century. The interior features a white ground with a multicolored floral design in its center. The exterior has a white ground with blue-glaze decoration and two multicolored scenes of domestic life with adults supervising children playing. Provenance: 4 1/2 inches tall X 10 1/2 inches diameter; 11.4 cm tall X 26.7 cm diameter. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Some restoration. Several hairlines in wall around rim. Faded paint. Peeling glaze around interior of bowl. Provenance: A North Carolina collection.
