James Edwin Meadows (1828-1888) A wooded landscape with figures by a bridge and stream signed 'J E Meadows' l.l., oil on canvas 47 x 61cm Condition report: Oil on canvas which has been lined. The canvas has good tension and is in plane and the paint layers are stable and secure. There is extensive overpaint in the sky, applied in a brushy manner. The varnish is clear and even. The frame has suffered from a few scattered losses but is in a good condition overall.
