Charles Jones (1836-1892) Sheep in an open landscape a pair, both signed with monogram 'CJ' and dated '74 l.r., also signed and dated verso, oil on panel 15 x 23cm Condition report: Both works are on small wooden panels with artist supplier labels for Roberson and Co on the reverse. The paintings are in a good condition overall, the panels are in plane and the paint layers are stable and secure. There is minor abrasion at the edges of the paintings partly caused by framing. The varnish layers are clear, even and glossy. There are localised areas of retouching at the very edges of the panels. The glazing of the frame is dirty inside and out.
