A pair of Japanese bronze Art Deco vases. One is shorter and stout with a slightly flaring neck and two simple bands around the base of the neck. The other vase is taller and lean with a thin, tall, tapering neck with a 2-character mark on the bottom. Both have an even red patina. Dimensions are: the shorter vase measures 7 1/8 inches tall X 5 1/8 inches wide, 18.1 cm X 13 cm, while the taller vase measures 8 1/4 inches tall X 2 3/4 inches wide, 21 cm X 7 cm. Weight: the stouter vase weighs 650 grams and the taller vase weighs 450 grams. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Miniscule dings present on both vases, but both are in overall good condition. Provenance: From a Connecticut gentleman's collection.
