Oil on canvas. A multi-figured representation of the Queen of Sheba enthroned in the centre, surrounded by numerous ladies-in-waiting, putti, a horse and Mars. Antique-style ruins and a landscape in the background. Framed dimensions 113 x 166 cm. Size of the painting 93 x 146 cm. Re-lined. Slight damage due to age. Partially restored. The frame chipped. A handwritten attribution to Luca Giordano (* 1634 in Naples; †1705 ibid.), an Italian painter and etcher in the baroque period known as Fa Presto, on the back of the stretcher. Condition: II -
