A French officer's campaign sword with silver-inlaid hilt, circa 1650 The single-edged blade with a double-edged point and shallow fullers on both sides. The ricasso with fullers on both sides, a mark stamped on the reverse. Iron knuckle-bow hilt with fine openwork guard plates on both sides. Lavishly silver-inlaid floral décor, engraved decorative bands with remnants of gilding. The grip with fine iron wire winding and Turk's heads. Slightly oval pommel with silver-inlaid embellishment.
