A BLUE AND WHITE AND ENAMELED PORCELAIN 'RICE GRAIN' BOWL, GUANGXU MARK AND PERIOD China, Guangxu period (1875-1908). Decorated with a band of pierced foliate diaper covered with a clear glaze, creating a translucent 'rice grain' effect, subtly painted with enamels to the exterior, below a band with the Three Friends of Winter and above a band of auspicious symbols, the interior with a leiwen band, an enameled diaper band, and a central roundel enclosing a lotus pond and inscribed Yi Lu Lian Sheng, the underside with a six-character Guangxu mark and of the period. Condition: Two minor old repairs to the rim, one hairline and minor fritting as well. Provenance: From an old family collection in Pressburg, Austrian Empire, Slovakia, and thence by descent to the present owner. Weight: 196.4 g Dimensions: Diameter 13 cm
