A BRONZE FIGURE OF BUDDHA IN A SHRINE Burma/Myanmar, 18th - 19th century. Consisting of two parts and cast in openwork, the lower part cast as a rectangular open-sided base supporting a standing Buddha. The upper part a multi-tiered roof showing fine openwork and undulating designs. Remains of gilding. Condition: Good condition with traces of wear, small nicks here and there. Overall rich malachite-green patina with ochre encrustations. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik Istvan Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above.
