POLYCHROME NAL WARE CERAMIC POT Indus Valley, Pakistan, Nal culture (around 3100-2700 BCE). A biconical ceramic pot with polychrome geometric frieze of concentric circles and lines to the body. Dark-brown, red and yellow paint still visible. The pot was wheel-made which is characteristic only for fine wares. Also the use of such a wide range of pigments attests a very high level of artisanship reached by the Nal craftsman. Condition: Very good condition with traces of age and use, some color fading. Provenance: Private collection of a German artist and collector living in Southeast Asia. Dimensions: Opening diameter 10 cm, foot diameter 8 cm, biggest diameter 16 cm, Height 12 cm
