Eugene Isabey (French, 1803-1886) Fishing boats at sea signed 'E Isabey' l.l., oil on canvas 27 x 21.5cm Condition report: Oil on canvas which is unlined. The tacking edges are covered with paper tape. There is an old damage at the centre of the painting which has been repaired from the reverse with a canvas patch. The paint layer has a network of age cracks. There are scattered retouchings across the surface which are well matched to the original. The varnish is even, glossy and slightly yellowed.
