From a North Yorkshire collection formed since the 1980s; thence by descent. Military bricks displaying name of the Legion were common, sometimes also displaying personal names after the name of the unit. They were found all over the former Roman Empire. Some stamps include only the name, while others also refer to an army rank. The main camp of the Legio X Gemina was Vindobona (Vienna in Austria) since 103 AD, although detachments operated all around the Empire, like in Mušov (today Bohemia) and Apamea (Syria"). [No Reserve]
