H. 28,5 cm Condition A PORCELAIN BRUSHPOT, SIGNED CHU HUANWEN, China, four-character Guangxu mark, dated 1902. Signature: "Renyin zhi qiuyue maoqin yixiong daren yawan chu huanwen xie zhi" (Painted by Chu Huanwen in the autumn of the year renyin, for the older brother Maoqin). Painted seal: "Yin". Depicted is a novel scene showing general Xue Rengui (614-683) receiving books on the art of war from the goddess Xuannü right before his campaign.
