A large pair of Chinese ivory figurines, circa 1900The fully sculptured figurines carved from the solid tips of magnificent tusks, representing a high-ranking couple, their garments delicately carved with relief decoration. The man bearing a dao (a type of sword), the woman holding a ruyi (a ritual sceptre) with a tassel attached. Some of the hair ornaments and the point of the hat added separately. Mounted on stepped pedestals, made in several pieces, with engraved and blackened décor. A four-character mark engraved in each base. Total height 72 and 79 cm, weight approx. 5800 and 6480 g.Attention: This lot can only be shipped within the European Union.Condition: I - IICondition Report:Overall in excellent condition, no damage or repairs.
