A Roman furniture fitting with the head of Bacchus, 1st - 2nd centuryElaborately worked bronze fitting in the shape of the head of Bacchus. The head of the god of wine with floral forehead ornamentation grows out of a multiple serrated vine leaf. A very sophisticated design! Parts of the vine leaf are missing below the left half of the face, otherwise intact. Excellent patina. Height 8 cm. Provenance: South German private collection.Condition: II
