A double icon pendant with carved exterior, one principal face bearing a cross within hatched square, cross to each corner, the panel opening to a polychrome painted scene of the Nativity, with the Archangels Gabriel and Michael escorting the Mother of God and the Divine Child, the side icon showing Saint George (Bet Gorgis) on horseback; the other principal face carved with an expanding arm cross within a lozengiform border, cross to each corner, the panel opening to a scene of the crucifixion of Christ, flanked by the Virgin Mary and Saint John, the side icon showing Christ standing between two saints, suspension loop above. 91 grams, 10cm (4").
