A double-sided wooden pendant icon, one principal face carved with a cross encompassed by a roundel, triangular motifs around, the panel opening to a polychrome painting depicting the crucifixion of Christ, flanked by the Virgin Mary and Saint John, the side icon showing Christ appearing to Saint Abune Tekle Haimanot; the second principal face carved with an expanding arm cross within a lozengiform border, cross to each corner, the panel opening to a depiction of the Nativity, with the Archangels Gabriel and Michael escorting the Mother of God and the Divine Child, side icon showing Saint George (Bet Gorgis) on horseback; suspension loop above. 68 grams, 85mm (3 1/2").
