A Burmese ivory carved figure of a dancer, Possibly 16/17th century, Burma, A very fine figure, rich in detail, showing a female dancer, holding one arm raised, the other arm down with her thumb and index finger pressed together. H 11.8 cm, Illustrated in 'Ivoren uit Birma', by Stefan Nies, the catalogue accompanying an exhibition on Birmese ivories (where this figure was exhibited) in Galerie de Ruimte (Eersel, Netherlands) in 1996. Tiny chip to top of head dress.
