大肚弥勒佛是宋代以后汉传佛教中常见的一种弥勒佛造像形式，又称为布袋和尚，唐代中、后期以来，以布袋和尚的形象取代以往的弥勒造像，是佛教造像中国化的一个体现。大肚弥勒是慈悲福分之象征，此尊弥勒喜笑颜开，大耳垂肩，袒胸露腹，跣足屈膝，如意坐姿，神态悠闲，右手执念珠搭于左膝，左手置于身侧执乾坤袋，形象刻划生动写实，将弥勒佛逍遥自在、大肚能容的形象表现得极为到位。紫檀木色泽乌亮，包浆浑厚自然，在笑意盈盈之下更显历尽岁月长河的淡然。
