凡搭脑与扶手皆不出头之椅，北京匠师谓之“南官帽椅”。此椅即是之，黄花梨为材，用料浑圆，搭脑中部微拱，曲线婉转自如。宅院和官邸的厅堂或走廊上常放置成堂成对的南官帽椅，在古画和新拍的古代皇宫照片中亦时有所见。靠背和扶手三弯，背板三段攒成，雕工精巧，细腻生动。上段落堂镶平板，铲地浮雕夔龙纹，下部饰有云纹亮脚。鹅脖延展穿过椅盘，成为腿足，与后腿相似做法。座面攒框装藤编软屉。腿足间置步步高管脚枨，枨下设素牙条。此种南官帽造型优美，工料皆精，成对摆放与室内，显得端庄大气。
