The generous portion of very fine Chinese white jade carved from a single piece nephrite boulder. The thick cylindrical sides of the brush pot are carved in varying relief with a Taoist figures among the mountain landscape walking on trails, all within a pierced ground with pavilions amid overhanging rocks and springs, gnarled pines wutong and prunus. The well-polished stone is of a white color with pale-celadon hue. Viewers of these work are meant to identify with a human figure in the painting, allowing them to walk through and dwell in the landscape. This jade brush pot conformed all required specimen to be high valued Chinese jade wares, with finest material, the whiteness, the cleanness, the color, the shape, design, and distinct.
