A WUCAI MELON-FORM ‘DRAGON’ JAR AND COVER, QING DYNASTY China, 1644-1912. The lobed ovoid sides rising from a thick foot to a short neck surmounted by a domed cover with similarly lobed sides and a bud finial. Boldly painted in bright enamels and underglaze-blue to the body with confronting dragons chasing pearls amid flames and swirling clouds below a double line border and above a band of palm blades, and to the cover with similar clouds and flames enclosed by double line borders.

Provenance: Lilla Bukowski, Stockholm, May 1999, no. 297. Swedish private collection, acquired from the above. An old auction label from Lilla Bukowski, stating the lot number and describing the piece, accompanies this lot.
Condition: Some old wear and firing irregularities, the neck with two chips, one with a small old repair.

清代五彩瓜棱龍紋蓋罐
中國，1644-1912年。唇口，短頸，腹呈瓜棱型，圈足。器身通體青花五彩裝飾，主體以龍紋為飾，生動傳神，龍紋四肢伸展，意氣風發。罐蓋如將軍帽，上面描繪如意祥雲紋與火焰紋，蓮花花苞狀蓋鈕。
