A Chinese gilt bronze statue of Amitayus dating from the 18th century. He is sitting in padmasana on a double lotus pedestal. Both of his hands rest in his lap in dhyana mudra and were originally holding a water vessel. He wears elaborate jewelry and a dhoti. The metal plate on the bottom is incised with a vajra cross. Dimensions are: 6 1/4 inches tall X 4 inches long X 3 inches wide, 15.9 cm X 10.2 cm X 7.6 cm. Weight: 1064 grams. All measurements are approximate. Condition: The water vessel is missing. Gilt wear.
