A Chinese square Yixing clay or Zisha teapot by Tiehua Xuan and dating from the Republic period. The teapot is incised on 2 sides with an inscription on 1 side and bamboo on the other. There is a 2-character mark to the interior of the lid and a 4-character mark to the bottom. Dimensions are: 3 1/2 inches tall X 7 inches wide X 5 1/4 inches deep, 8.89 cm X 17.78 cm X 13.34 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Large chip to the interior rim of the lid, chip to 1 exterior corner of the lid, 2 very minor areas of chipping to the spout and bottom corner of the teapot as well as a crack to the bottom.
