Their shape distantly resembles bronze cast wine containers called zun. They have a spreading tall foot, a dice-shaped body with rounded edges, a high neck and a flared mouth. On the main sides, all parts of the vessels have a frame with thunder patterns (leiwen), and the surfaces are decorated with low relief ornaments. On one side of the bodies there are two separate panels, one carved with an ornament of two symmetrical halves the other carved with two mirrored dragons with angular bodies. On the opposite side, two rising dragons are playing with a flaming pearl. On the main sides of the necks, two stylized phoenix birds are moving upwards, facing the large head of a creature resembling an owl. Four openwork side handles with loose rings are part of the bodies and necks of the vessels, with two small figures of a winged quadruped standing on the handles below.
