此件为白玉质，温润细腻。片状，透雕双凤鸟纹，或相对，或相背，均为剪影式的艺术表现手法。整体纹饰简洁，线条流畅。傅熹年先生考据说：“以动物形象左右对称布置为装饰题材，在北朝到唐代的纺织品中多次出现，现已公认是受波斯萨珊文化的影响所致……雕工与中原地区不同，图案又属西域流行的萨珊特点，故极可能是北朝末到初唐间西域地区制品。”参考：《古玉掇英》P204、205
