扳指为黄玉质，温润细腻，留皮巧雕。器呈圆筒形，一面微凸，一面内凹，器面留皮碾琢一只鹿趴在松树下，鹿回首，画面和谐安逸，有福禄的吉祥寓意。整体选材精良，打磨细致，包浆自然，抛光细腻。扳指，又称“班指”，盛行于清，当与满人善骑射不无关系。本意是射箭时将其用佩戴于拇指之上以防伤手，后逐渐从实用物演变成装饰物，并成为身份地位的象征。
