A large Delft polychrome pottery birdcage plaque, 18th century, Netherlands, A Trompe l oeil relief moulded plaque, painted with a bird (possibly a greenfinch) in a manganese-barred brown-framed cage, surrounded by moulded blue yellow-edged draper. Not marked, ca. 1760. L 41cm, H 33,5 cm, Rim chipping, a larger chip on the lower edge. No restoration. The three small vases (ornaments) that used to be on top of this plaque are missing.
