A large Delft polychrome pottery birdcage plaque, 18th century, Netherlands, A Trompe l oeil relief moulded plaque, painted with a bird (great tit) in a manganese-barred brown-framed cage, surrounded by moulded blue yellow-edged draper. Not marked, ca. 1760. Broken in two and repaired. L 43cm, H 35.5 cm, Broken in two and repaired. Rim chipping. The three small vases (ornaments) that used to be on top of this plaque are missing.
