来源美国私人收藏出版Michael C. Teller IV，《Royal Chinese Treasures: Tang and Song Dynasties》，维珍尼亚威廉斯堡，1991年，页40-41，图版20此件匜一侧以龙首雕绘，匜边以精美纹饰相辅相成，整体金碧辉煌，色泽沉稳，古朴大方，工艺细腻，精细中透出灵动，传承久远，岁月的沧桑为其彰显出古朴感，为宋代金器之精品。匜音同仪，是中国礼器之一，用于沃盥之礼，为客人洗手所用。周朝沃盥之礼所用水器由盘、盉组合变为盘、匜组合。此匜纯金为质，柄为龙首衔环，昴首向前，毛发后扬，伏托圆形匜，内底运用锤碟和錾刻工艺饰游龟纹饰，海水随波，中间卧伏一只小龟，形象生动。类似宋代牡丹纹龙首金杯见于Carl Kempe收藏。
