Tony Hochstetler (American, b. 1964). "Bean Pods" bronze on black granite base, n.d. Edition 9 of 15. Signed and numbered at bottom of larger bean pod. Two peas in a pod! A beautiful bronze sculpture of a pair of bean pods created by Tony Hochstetler. The attention to detail on this piece is just as impressive as its overall form. Notice the wonderful textural pattern embellishing the skin of each pod as well as the marvelous warm patina of the bronze. Hochstetler also took great care when crafting the black granite base, polishing the flat surface but leaving the peripheries roughly hewn for an extra touch of design. Size (including : 7.375" L x 18.5" W x 24.875" H (18.7 cm x 47 cm x 63.2 cm)Hochstetler is greatly inspired by the natural world. In his words, "I sculpt the animals and plants that fascinated me as I was growing up, and that still intrigue me today. Insects, reptiles, amphibians, and fish have always been the animals that interest me the most. The diversity of these animals, the way they move, and the compositions that they form are the driving forces behind my desire to sculpt."Artist's Biography: "Tony Hochstetler is a sculptor of unusual animals and botanical subjects.
