此官皮箱内置抽屉，为收纳珠宝或书札、印玺所用，而今日的官皮箱，不仅存储梳妆用品，同样也具文房功能。此官皮箱以红润的黄花梨为材，制作考究，两扇门板一木对剖，起伏若山峦，华丽美观，背面纹理亦然。箱盖掀开，对开门后是五具抽屉，二二一排列，富收纳功能，抽屉上设有铜活儿。箱身与箱盖背后都有长方形合页加固，底座正面采用壸门牙板，显示了不俗的审美情趣。
