**Originally Listed At $400** Southeast Asia, Thailand, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE; France, ca. early 20th century CE. A collection of 3 wood, brass, and gilt brass balance beams from measuring scales. The plain brass scale is likely French and stamped with the mark "RECO" under the number "20" and a "16" on the central tab or zero indicator. This is a hefty piece and might have been commercially used. The red wooden Thai scale has a stupa shaped finial that the indicator centers within when balanced, and iron hooks on the end of the arms. The last is a Thai gilt brass beam with ornate scrolling arm tips and a low relief vine decoration cast into the front, and an articulating hook is placed through the center.
