**Originally Listed At $800** Pre-Columbian, North Coast Peru, Chavin, ca. 900 to 500 BCE. A nicely preserved stone mace head made from a mottled light gray stone. The conical form features 4 rows of 8 protruding nodules for a total of 32 nodules, each capable of concentrating a majority of the force behind a swing onto the point. The interior is biconically drilled and shows how it would be attached to the end of a wooden pole.
