**Originally Listed At $800** Pre-Columbian, Northern Peru, Cupisnique, Chavin Maranon, ca. 500 to 300 BCE. A very rare standing figure that is hollow-built from pottery and presents with highly burnished surfaces. The figure exhibits a heart-shaped head with perforated, diamond-shaped eyes and a prominent nose adorned with a large ornament, all above arms held out at the sides and stocky, delineated legs. The charming figure is painted with red pigment and is highlighted with incised motifs in scattered areas. A nice example seldom found! Size: 3.7" W x 6" H (9.4 cm x 15.2 cm); 6.25" H (15.9 cm) on included custom stand.
