Silk with multi-colored silk and gold brocade threads, with woven application borders, inside with silk lining, five gilt copper buttons and fabric loops at the front. China, around 1900
This bright blue Changyi robe shows delicate embroidery with traditional Chinese symbolism such as the eight Buddhist treasures or symbols of longevity in shape of cranes, bats and peaches. At the hems, woven borders are applied and joined by an embroidered band, held in blue hues.

Dimensions: Total width (measured with stretched out sleeves) 166 cm; maximum length 100 cm
Condition: Very good condition with only few loose threads and small tears – mainly to the inside.
