Silk with multi-colored silk and gold brocade threads, backside lined with plain yellow linen. China, late Qing dynasty

This large embroidery, composed of five fragments, shows a pair of large frontal dragons above waves and rocks and under another pair of facing dragons with curved scaly bodies, all above a broad hem with a pair of large peony blossoms on lishui stripes in gold brocade threads. The dragons are depicted on a densely embellished golden beige background with diagonal grid-pattern. The background decoration includes flowers, peonies and flaming pearls.

Condition: Age-related condition with some soiling and wear as well as few open stitches or loose threads. The upper hem with some smaller rips.Composed of singular cut fragments, sewn together.

大型刺綉由五塊小片組成，波浪石涯上一對巨首飛龍，
身體彎曲鱗片清晰，褙襯金色背景，北京裝飾花卉和火
珠。下部波浪紋。
形狀：整體矩形，垂直面不規則邊緣
尺寸：197 x 160 厘米
品相與年代相符，稍有一些污漬和磨損，一些針脚開縫
和脫綫。上邊緣有些小裂縫。單面有小片組成。
