是书为黄沛翘汇编《西藏志》《卫藏图识》《西招图略》等多种有关西藏之典籍。本书初编于清光绪十一年，翌年成书。内分西藏源流考、内地程站考、西藏程站考、名山大川详考诸门，卷一收双面连式西藏全图、沿边图、西招原图、乍丫图等多幅。藏事续考所载史料价值极高，内分天时、地利、人事、物产四目。各目之后附相关藏语词汇，采用汉字注音。其中人事目记载派兵、头人委用、达赖班禅之册封、传统服饰、藏民婚嫁、丧葬、医药、占卜、粮台设置等内容，十分丰富。是志资料丰赡，稽考翔实，为西藏地理考察、历史研究的重要文献。
