白玉质，油润细腻，光气纯熟，造型优雅别致。整体雕琢书卷形，上下镂雕夔龙纹，器一面阳刻凤鸣在竹纹，竹节劲挺，竹叶纷纷，层次丰富，写实感强。凤回首顾盼，橄榄形眼，眼尾出梢，尖喙，羽冠后掠，细颈长腿，羽毛层次丰富，生动形象；一面刻“片月，瞻彼淇奥竹，应知君子心。承平丹凤至，鸣出太和春。子岗”，字迹工整。上包金，可供穿系佩挂。《千字文》中“鸣凤在竹，白驹食场。化被草木，赖及万方”之意，以喻太平盛世。整体琢工精致，线条犀利，构思巧妙，凤穿竹林间，更为华美，动静俱佳。
