A large blue glaze Swatow dish with slip decoration, First half of the 17th century, China, D 39 cm, A similar dish in the British Museum is illustrated on page 347, Ming Ceramics, London, 2001, by J. Harrison-Hall. A Zhangzhou ware dish, decorated with white slip florals on a blue glaze ground. A few old rim chips/fritting, one chip on the back with an old repair (see close-up photos). No hairlines or cracks and no restoration. Heavy wear of the glaze from age and use.
