A RARE COLLECTION WITH 40! AGATE BEADSGermany, Idar Oberstein, 17th to 18th century. Consisting of 40 beads of different sizes and shapes, including circular, rhomboid, and square beads. The semi translucent stones of warm cinnabar and creamy orange tones with pale and dark brown bands, shadings, and fingerprints, well-polished and with central drilling showing manual toolmarks. Coming with a gridded recent storage box. Condition: Very good condition with some wear and natural imperfections to the stones. Some beads with fritting along the edges or minor nicks. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above. Dr. István Zelnik, President of the Hungarian South and Southeast Asian Research Institute, is a former high-ranking Hungarian diplomat who spent several decades in Southeast Asia, building the largest known private collection of Asian art in Europe.
