A GHAZNAVID CARVED ALABASTER OIL LAMP WITH WINGED BEASTSAfghanistan, 11TH to 12TH century. The everted foot rising to a beak-shaped bowl with two openings, manually carved and chiseled with a winged beast on each side and further decorated with small circles and dots.Condition: Good condition commensurate with age, wear, weathering, nicks, and minor losses. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above.
