A WESTERN ASIATIC ‘ZEBU’ CHLORITE VESSEL, 3RD MILLENNIUM BCWestern Asiatic region, 3rd Millennium BC. Of cylindrical form flaring towards the foot and with an everted rim, carved in relief with two confronting zebu centered by a humanoid figure, the background covered with a geometric pattern suggesting mountains and water.Condition: Good condition, commensurate with age. Scratches, nicks, minor chips, encrustations, structural cracks and associated old fills. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above.
