Chinese Ming Dynasty blue and white figurines porcelain jar. Having thick body, sturdily potted in a bulbous body, gently tapered on shoulder toward prominent straight neck with a wide opening. The exterior decorated with hand-painting in cobalt underglazed blue, depicted a group of figurines in various pursuit within the landscape, all enclosed within scrolling clouds cartouches. Its shoulder bordered with dense of key-fret pattern atop arrays of tropical leaves on collar. Which foot bordered with auspicious geometric patterns. The glaze appearance on the blue painting resembled the texture of an orange peel "ju-pi" (chu-p'i) or chicken skin. The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark grayish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim.
