A VERY LARGE PARCEL GILT BRONZE VASE, KANGXI
China, 1662-1722. The massively cast body of slender baluster form, the trumpet neck with a recessed flaring lip, the shoulder cast with a band of gilt and neatly incised lotus-petals in high relief, all raised on a spreading foot. Apocryphal Xuande mark to base.

Provenance: Swedish private collection.
Condition: Old repair to base, handles lost. Wear, traces of use and some dents. Fine natural patina of iron-red and chocolatebrown mottling.
